DEBRA MEEHL, D.D., MSW
Nationally recognized educator, counselor and author of The Friends and Family Bipolar Survival Guide, Dr. Meehl speaks to clinicians and doctors regularly on the importance of DBT based therapy and the impact it is having in people's lives.
Through her work as a Pastoral Counselor, Intensively Trained DBT Therapist and Skills Trainer, and the spouse of someone with Bipolar Disorder, Dr. Meehl has developed the highly acclaimed and successful Meehl Foundation DBT Program, which combines DBT based therapy and skills training with life skills development and coaching.
Recently recognized in Who's Who for her work on behalf of mental health and wellness, she and Lucinda Johnstone have developed The Meehl Foundation program to meet the specific needs of individuals seeking to live independently and successfully with their mental illness.
LUCINDA JOHNSTONE, LPC, NCC, M.S.
Co-Author of "Mindfulness and Mental Illness", Lucinda is a highly regarded educator and counselor, nationally recognized as an Intensively Trained DBT Therapist and Skills Trainer. As a Licensed Professional Counselor she works with low-income families throughout Southeast Texas for The Meehl Foundation and has own her own clients with DBT New Life Counseling. As a professional with Bipolar Disorder, utilizing her 20 years of experience as an educator Lucinda understands the special needs in helping clients develop individualized pathways to success.
Lucinda has played a critical role in the development of the Meehl Foundation DBT Program and as owner and Director of The Venn House.
HALONA BROWN, LMT
In addition to conducting low impact exercise programs and weekly cooking classes, Halona coordinates massage therapy, nutrition and weight management programs for The Venn House.
DAVID BALLENBERGER, MSW
Intensively Trained DBT Therapist and Skills Trainer, David has spent over 30 years running acute care facilities, and as a consultant and expert in group home management, program development and residential care.
