I am on a mission to sell 1,000 EXPECT RECOVERY! BRACELETS by March 30. It is a mission that I truly believe in and I KNOW that I will accomplish this. It's time for me to positive about my goal!
If everyone ordered 10 bracelets, I would reach my goal. I have never been one to do the "hard sell" but because I believe that I can help others and affect their lives in a positive way, I know it is an investment in the recovery movement.
I have heard from countless people who tell me stories about EXPECT RECOVERY! and how the message itself has given hope and faith to leading a life of positive change. This is much more than continuing a life of living in the status quo. Rather it is positive change, stigma busting, having the life you and your loved ones want and outreach to the underserved and unserved population in our community.
How many people do we know that cannot receive services from both the public and private sector? We know TONS!
In one and a half years, I have sold over 7,000!!!!
(I also have sold over 200 to others who are recovering from other illnesses like cancer, heart disease and even surgeries!)
Now it is the time to reach out to our communities and spread the word that RECOVERY IS POSSIBLE. This mission of mine is due to not only my own motivation and responsibity to myself; it is also because so many others, hundreds in fact, have supported me on my journey to wellness. None of us recover alone, for it is about supporting one another and building a network of hope, faith, motivation and responsibility to ourselves and our community.
People often ask me (especially family members) what my secret is. Well, it is not only my secret -- others know it too. It is cocreating with a divine power greater than myself. I received my inspiration from a source more powerful than any human.
One morning on my way to work, 2 words entered my mind-EXPECT RECOVERY!- and I knew I had turned the corner to a life that everyone wants. I started by having the words printed on t-shirts and then my friend Glenda, suggested I share the message on bracelets. We chose green to represent prosperity and growth.
The truth of my story is that I moved forward on my mission in June of 2005. I was successful for many months. Then I had a setback, lost some hope and bounced back. I have learned that it is my responsibility to give back. I believe that it is everyone's responsibility to help those who are unable to help themselves.
